Final stop (for now)

I made it to Mammoth Cave on Friday. This place just makes me happy. I feel comfortable here. Don't get me wrong. I liked Lake Mead. But this place jsut feels more like me. I start work in the morning. I am once again doing Environmental Education. I look forward to the new challenges of this position. I will try and post pictures soon from the drive back east.

Still not home yet

I'm still a few days from home. Home being Northeast TN. I am only two days from TN. Last night I stayed in St. Louis, MO. We visited Wilson's Creek National Battlefield near Springfield, MO. Neat little park. Today we are going to Jefferson Expansion National Monument (St. Louis Arch) and probably Ulyess S. Grant's home. then heading to paducah, KY for the night. Getting closer! Today we will cross the Mississippi!

What happened to my fall

Somewhere along the road, I went from summer to Winter. This happened quickly, like in one day. At Arches yesterday it was low 90s, last week at Mead it was still 106 for the high. Today however, I felt 28 degree temps. That was cold. The plan was to go across the mountain within the Rocky Mt National Park. However the weather had different plans for us. We got all the way to the VC (about an 1 1/2 from the interstate) only to be told the road was closed 10 miles ahead. I was pretty bummed. However, we still did two short walks on the west side and got to hear elk bugling and then got to see them. I will post some pictures sometime. Tomorrow we are going back into the park on the east side. I am looking forward to it. Tonight we are staying in Loveland, CO about 45 minutes from the east side of the park.

Heading East day 3

Long day. Time for some school work. We stopped at Arches National Park and Colorado National Monument. Arches is a very neat place. I know I am hitting a lot of parks and not doing them justice but even seeing a glimpse is awesome. Staying in Grand Junction tonight.

Tomorrow Rocky Mountain National Park!!!!!!!!!!!!
