Memorial Day Weekend

I dont hav much to say about the past weekend other than I wish I was at home on the lake in TN with my family. However, I atleast did have an enjoyable weekend here at Lake Mead. The temperature was hot right at 100 and there was a slight breeze which made the weekend not to bad at all. I was out "roving" for Sat, Sun and Monday. Basically that means I was out talking to anyone I saw for three days in the sun. Over all a great weekend. Over 2000 visitor contacts. That is a good number for the launch ramps and beaches. Now I hope all the weekends are like that.

President Barak Obama

So last night I had the privilege of seeing the President here in Vegas. Regardless of your political position, I think seeing the president while in office is something quite amazing. I had a wonderful time and it was a great night. Obama is a very good speaker and it was fun to watch him speak. I only wish I had not followed the rules and had taken my camera in with me. I was told no cameras and I therefore followed the rules. Cell phone camera NOT of high enough quality. However there were tons of people that had their cameras and took pictures. Bummer I wasn't one of them. The occasion was a fund raiser for Senator Harry Reid from NV. The senate majority leader. He also spook was not quite as good as the president. There were also performances by two different choirs, a Nevada singer songwriter, Cheryl Crow, Rita Something-another, and Bett Milder. It was a great event. I had a very enjoyable time. I also went out to a light meal with the couple that got me the ticket. They are volunteers whom I worked with at the Smokies. I had not seen them in 3 years and they graced me with this gift. Thank you Rick and Glo!

Other than this event, things have been going well here in Nevada. The summer has arrived and I am glad it is here!
